Responsibilities

  • The primary function of the County Collector is the collection of current and delinquent personal and real estate taxes for the various political subdivisions and taxing entities of the county.
  • Prepares separate tax statements for: Personal Property (cars, trucks, boats, livestock etc.); Real Estate (residential, commercial, agricultural); Utilities(railroad, electric, gas lines, etc.).
  • Provides Merchant & Liquor Licenses to appropriate businesses or persons.
  • Conducts delinquent tax sale in August.
  • Collector is charged with the duties of collecting the taxes due, as shown on the Assessor's records, and then distributes the funds monthly to the various taxing entities.

Office Information

  • Property tax statements are mailed by early November each year. Please inspect your statements and verify that all information is correct, including mailing address and all vehicles.
  • To change the address, fill out form on the back of your statement stub and return with your payment.
  • If making a payment online, you may change your address at that time or simply send to the email below.
  • All tax statements are due upon receipt and become delinquent after December 31st.
  • Payments can be made in person at our office or at our 24 hour outdoor drop box located at the north entrance of the Taney County Courthouse. Online payments are also being accepted at this website and for your convenience the 800 number at the top of your statement is for all phone payments.
  • Mailed tax payments MUST have an official US Post Office postmark on or before December 31st, to avoid additional penalties and interest. Payments postmarked after December 31st will be returned unprocessed unless late fees are included.

We will be open 7:00 am - 5:00 pm December 26th-27th & 30th-31st
Again, payments MUST be postmarked no later than December 31st to avoid penalties.
